International Online Teaching Resource Library

[Professional Impact]
Project Details2nd Annual Teaching Resource Library Video Competition

The International Online Teaching Resource Library will consist of member generated videos with testimonials and cases in their own languages (subtitles in English) that illustrate how AOM scholarship and teaching have helped inspire and enable a better world. This project engages all three groups of Academy members (academics, students, and practitioners) in a collaborative initiative that promotes and fosters practical, meaningful, and relevant teaching and research.

The goal of the project is not only to promote the relevance and importance of AOM scholarship for managerial and organizational practice, but also to engage members from emerging countries who might not fully understand what AOM is and does, and the important role it plays in business management.

The project introduces an open competition for student teams (at any level), assisted by at least one “academic coach” and one industry partner, to produce a video that demonstrates how Academy scholarship influences and helps improve management and organizational practice in their own context. A panel of experts will select finalists, who will be invited to present their video during the annual meeting where the panel will then select one winner. The finalists will receive travel support of $500 to come to the Annual Meeting. The winning team will receive a $1,000 prize and recognition at the AOM Annual Meeting. All finalists will receive a plaque and the videos will be featured for up to a year in the AOM video library. The videos will be accessible (for at least five years), with appropriate attribution, for all Academy members to use in their classrooms.
